Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise) x64 on Macbook Pro (6,2)

For a couple of years now I've been a Mac user (both personally and professionally), not that I particularly like Mac OS (I don't) but because I really like the unibody MBP hardware. At work my choices were limited to Windows/Mac, and at home I'd lost interest in tweaking my tech and didn't want to go back to Windows having been an Ubuntu user for around 5 years. After a year or so my interest in Linux was rekindled and I installed Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) on my MBP 6,2 but just couldn't get the trackpad to work intuitively. That was pretty much a deal breaker for me until I installed 12.04 (Precise Pangolin) around 8 weeks ago (then beta) and Lion hasn't seen the light of day since. To date I've had no significant issues and only had to make a couple of tweaks which I'll share below;

Added to  /etc/rc.local

Set backlight and keyboard brightness

#$backlight_brightness range  0-82311
echo $backlight_brightness > /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/apple_backlight/subsystem/gmux_backlight/brightness
 #$kbd_brightness range 0-255
echo $kbd_brightness > /sys/class/leds/smc\:\:kbd_backlight/brightness

Disable bluetooth radio
rfkill block bluetooth
